Charting Skills: detail effective and time-efficient
March 8, Cambridge, ON – The Ontario Massage Therapist Association (OMTA) announces a one day seminar titled Charting Skills: detail effective and time-efficient to be held on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy - Cambridge Campus.

The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will feature speaker Don Dillon, RMT.

Massage therapists would rather provide care than notate their findings and treatment plans.  Yet with growing regulation and a real need to serve patients better, RMTs require good records to provide good care.

Course Outline

The seminar will:

  • Discuss the dimensions of pain, and why simply asking about "pain" is not enough;
  • Examine challenges and special considerations when taking a case history;
  • Identify yellow and red flags in the intake;
  • Easily document postural distortions, range-of-motion and palpatory findings;
  • Review CMTO guidelines for record-keeping;
  • Create better treatment plans;
  • Clarify the symptom picture through the use of pain and disbility questionnaires;
  • Track the downward spiral of soft-tissue dysfunctions.

About the Speaker

Don Dillon, RMT is the author of Better Business Agreements and the self-study workbook Charting Skills for Massage Therapists. Over 60 of his articles have been published in various industry publications including Massage Therapy Canada.
