Conference for Integrative Oncology
Aug 2, New York, NY – RMTs are invited to register for the7th annual International Conference of the Society for Integrative Oncology; Informing the debate in practice, research and public policy be held in New York City from November 11-13, 2010.

The conference will be held at The New York Academy of Medicine, 1216 Fifth Avenue (at 103rd Street). 

 

This year's conference will address the challenges facing integrative oncology in the new era of healthcare reform, while encouraging practitioners to meet patients' current needs for evidence-based integrative oncology.  Its target audience includes RMTs, physicians, nurses, social workers, naturopaths, psychologists, psychiatrists, palliative care, acupuncturists, music therapists, TCM practitioners, traditional health care practitioners, nutritionists, exercise and lifestyle coaches, pharmacists, herbalists, scientists, public health professionals, patient advocates, and administrators. 

At the end of the conference, participants will be able to appreciate the relevance of integrative oncology to international research and policy agendas; understand the role of energy balance in cancer survivorship; identify gaps in integrative oncology comparative effectiveness research; evaluate various models of reimbursement for integrative oncology; plan for an integrative oncology practice that makes optimal use of promising botanical and mind-body therapies to meet patients' needs.

The conference will include international guest lecturers, panel discussions by a number of integrative oncology experts, workshops and more.
