Is there an election coming up?

Sept. 8, Mississauga, Ont. – RMTs in Ontario are encouraged to remind election candidates to take action and remove HST from massage therapy services in order to make these more accessible to patients.

Barbara Cunningham, an RMT in Mississauga, is appealing to her colleagues across the province to take the opportunity offered by the upcoming provincial election to be advocates for their patients and their profession. This is an excellent time to suggest to candidates within each constituency that they consider removing HST from massage therapy in order to help make massage therapy accessible to those who would benefit from it.

“An election is coming up next month,” says Cunningham, “vote, and when representatives come to your door asking what you think about  HST being taken off of gas and food... tell them it should be taken off RMT services!”

You can also contact the candidates directly to get your message across – contact information can be found at the 2011 General Election Website at www.wemakevotingeasy.ca/en/home.aspx

But don't waste time - the Ontario provincial election is scheduled for October 6, 2011!
