New Massage Therapy Program in BC
May 6, Vernon, BC – The Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in British Columbia announces its new two-year program that will begin in September 2012.

Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy (OVCMT) opened its doors in 1994 and is accredited by both the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia  (CMTBC – http://www.cmtbc.bc.ca/) and the Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA – http://www.pctia.bc.ca/) in BC. OVCMT is committed to creating and maintaining the highest possible standards of education in professional massage therapy and education in wellness massage and spa modalities. Students can develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes essential to becoming Registered Massage Therapists or spa practitioners. The curriculum integrates academic content and practical skills emphasizing the application of critical thinking with the art and ethics of professionalism.

The new two-year massage therapy program at OVCMT can be applied to a Bachelor of Health Science Degree and is also accredited by both PCTIA and the CMTBC, as well as being a Designated School for Student Aid BC. The program provides instruction in all of the competencies required by the other regulated provinces in Canada (Newfoundland & Labrador and Ontario). Graduates of the OVCMT massage therapy diploma program are eligible to receive credits towards the Bachelor of Health Science degree through Thompson Rivers University, Open Learning (TRU-OL).

Applications are now being accepted for matriculation in September 2012 and January 2013.
