Langara College graduates first batch of massage therapy students
Vancouver, B.C. – Langara College has announced that the first cohort from the registered massage therapy program has graduated. Langara's two-year program was launched in 2013 and is the first public post-secondary institution in B.C. to offer training in this field of study.

The 2015 graduates of Langara's CS Diploma Registered Massage Therapy program Now named the CS Continuing Studies (CS) Diploma in Registered Massage Therapy, the program’s first graduation ceremony included presenters Dr. Lane Trotter, president, Langara College, and Daniel Thorpe, dean, continuing studies.
“We’re very proud to see our first cohort graduate. It’s such a demanding program so we’re confident our students have received the highest quality of education to prepare them to become successful health-care professionals. We wish them the best,” said Thorpe.
The diploma program is designed to prepare graduates to become independent, successful, and professional healthcare providers. The intensive program delivers curriculum beyond the standard in key areas such as research, gross anatomy, business skills, and subtle manual therapies. The education students receive exceeds the entry-to-practice requirements of the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC), a press release from Langara College said.
In the fall 2015, the program received full recognition from the CMTBC, an acknowledgement of the level of quality education the students receive. The program achieved preliminary recognition in November 2013.
Langara College’s 2015 graduates of the CS Diploma in Registered Massage Therapy include: Charlotte Chalmers, Jeffrey Gabert, Jessica von Henzke, Robert Liu, Stephanie Running and Kevin Yee.
Located in Vancouver, Langara College provides university, career and continuing studies education to more than 21,000 students annually, featuring more than 1,700 courses and 130 programs.
