Collaborative partnership promises new solutions to home care

The Canadian Home Care Association (CHCA), the national association for home care stakeholders in Canada, and CBI Health Group, a leader in rehabilitation and integrated community healthcare services, have announced a new collaborative partnership. In 2015, CHCA launched the Home Care Knowledge Network to facilitate capacity building in the home care sector. Through the Home Care Knowledge Network, stakeholders collectively identify and address issues that impact the availability and delivery of high quality home care services. The Home Care Knowledge Network provides access to expert consultation and coaching, in addition to tools and resources to build capacity.

“The Home Care Knowledge Network uses a systematic approach to finding, adapting and scaling existing solutions to solve home care challenges,” stated RĂ©al Cloutier, CHCA president. “Our goal is to support home care policy makers, program developers and providers deliver high quality, cost effective care.”

“We are very excited about our partnership. Innovation is a driving force at CBI Health Group and this role as an Innovation Seeker aligns and builds upon the vision of CBI in shaping health care standards and practices in Canada,” said Anthony Milonas, CBI Health Group chief operating officer.

CHCA and CBI Health Group have committed to work together to bring innovative ideas, concepts and potential solutions to home care stakeholders in Canada and to explore new models of care delivery.

“We look toward this unique collaboration as a starting point and a key step in building home care capacity to address growing demand,” commented Nadine Henningsen, CHCA executive director. “CBI Health Group will take an active role in helping to identify and share new models and potential solutions to meet the needs of the Knowledge Network HUBs across the country.”

CHCA is a national not-for-profit membership association representing home care stakeholders from governments (federal, provincial and territorial), health authorities, publicly funded home care programs, service providers, medical and technology companies, researchers and others with an interest in home care.

Founded in 1974, CBI Health Group is one of Canada’s leading providers of quality health-care and rehabilitation services. CBI currently employs almost 10,000 clinical and support staff that deliver comprehensive healthcare services through more than 250 facilities. Its services include: community and hospital-based rehabilitation centres, home health, neurodevelopmental treatment, assessments and medical services on behalf of individuals, third party funders and governments.
