Sept. 26, Minneapolis, Minn. – Nearly 1,500 massage therapists attended this year’s American Massage Therapy Association’s 2010 national convention that was held from Sept 22-25 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Attendees had the opportunity to review the results of an advanced release of the 14th annual consumer survey on the use of massage, as well as visit 70 exhibits and take in several CE sessions. The annual student day, now in its third year, attracted 150 students in anticipation of learning more about job search skills and marketing.

This year’s event theme was “Balance”, which turned out to be a good fit all around, as education and networking were balanced with generosity. The AMTA presented a cheque for $547,000 to The Massage Therapy Foundation – the largest annual contribution by an association to date.

The AMTA is a non-profit, professional association comprisedof 56,000 members.
