Electronic
contributions to the account can now be made on the AMTA website at www.amtamassage.org/contribute

The
special Hurricane Sandy account was established to support massage therapists in
the three states with counties designated for individual assistance by
FEMA.  This account accepts contributions to support programs through the
AMTA New York, New Jersey and Connecticut chapters that are consistent with
AMTA purposes and can benefit massage therapists over several months, such as
free continuing education.  The association will match contributions
raised up to $100,000.

Any person or company can contribute to this account.
(Note that contributions to AMTA chapters or to the Hurricane Sandy account are
not tax-deductible, as AMTA is not a charitable organization.)

AMTA
wants to encourage those who wish to contribute to humanitarian efforts in the
storm-affected area to do so directly through those agencies and groups
established to accept charitable contributions and ensure that they reach those
most in need.  The best resource to find these organizations is through
the U.S. government website http://www.serve.gov/sandy/
