The massage therapy school edition of the 2010
Massage Profession Research Report
was presented and discussed at AMTA’s
Massage Therapy Schools Summit on February 19.

The full report is now available for purchase
through AMTA’s Web site at http://www.amtamassage.org/a/shoppingmall/ProductDetail.aspx?SiteMapId=5&ProductId=2874
.  AMTA members can receive the report free as part of their membership.

The report indicates shifts in work locations for
massage therapists and the impact of the economic downturn, and compares these
changes in the marketplace to the association’s past consumer surveys.  It
examines the current massage therapy climate from consumers to massage
therapists, from massage schools to the growing integration of massage in
health care.  Excerpts also were published in the spring 2010 issue of Massage
Therapy Journal
(mtj).
