Bowen
therapy is a cost effective, natural pain treatment – often an alternative to
drugs and surgery.  Bowen targets
the source of the pain, unravels tension in the entire body – aligning the
spine and joints without manipulation and improves circulation and lymphatic
drainage.

Bowenwork,
or the Bowen Technique, is a highly effective yet gentle form of bodywork. It
was created over 50 years ago in Australia and is now practiced worldwide. It
acts upon the fascia and nervous system to address the root cause of
musculoskeletal and neurological pain as well as other ailments. RMT’s love
Bowen Therapy because it is as gentle on the therapist as it is the client.

The
internationally standardized and recognized Bowtech Training program is
comprised of six modules, each two days in length. Each module combines theory
with hands-on training to ensure students have the skills required to begin
practising immediately.

To
become a certified practitioner, students must also complete Module 7, which
assesses all of the procedures learned in Modules 1-6, and submit proof of the
following additional requirements:

  • Completion
    of an approved course in anatomy and physiology (Minimum 100-120 hours);
  • Current
    First Aid/CPR certification;
  • An
    approved business course (minimum 20 hours) or relevant business
    experience.

Credit
may be given for prior anatomy/business classes taken. CEU’s may be available
for those licensed in other modalities. Classes can also be taken without
pursuing certification.

Class
sizes are kept to a minimum to ensure individual attention due to the high
level on hands-on practice. Classes are usually scheduled around a weekend for
students’ convenience. Within six months or so, you can become a Bowen
therapist and open your own practice, or enhance your current practice.

Classes
are available across Canada. To view scheduled classes and locations, as well
