AMTA continues Massage Therapy Tour

Apr. 22, Evanston, Ill. – The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) announces the continuation of the AMTA Massage Therapy Tour, with its first 2013 stop in Indianapolis May 29.

The association reached millions of people in 2012 with
information about the health benefits of massage therapy through its tour last
summer and proactive media relations.  Increasing the number of cities
this year, AMTA expects to reach millions more consumers and media outlets with
its ongoing consumer awareness program.

The
AMTA Massage Therapy Tour is a key component of the association’s effort,
taking massage therapy directly to potential clients for AMTA members.

“AMTA
has made a long-term commitment to reach out to consumers to educate them how
massage therapy can improve their health,” says AMTA President Winona
Bontrager.  “Our Tour stops are very diverse, giving us an opportunity to
reach both people who know the value of massage and those who haven’t thought
about seeking massage therapy on a regular basis.  Every massage therapist
will benefit from what we are doing.”

AMTA
will announce additional details of other components of its consumer awareness
program as they move forward this year.  The Third Research Roundup is
scheduled to be sent to consumer and health care media later this spring.

AMTA
encourages everyone in the massage therapy profession to follow AMTA’s Massage
Therapy Tour through Facebook and www.amtamassage.org.
