National accreditation body for massage education now accepting board nominations

For this initial appointment to the CMTCA Board, there will only be one
seat each from the Canadian Council of Massage Therapy Schools (CCMTS),
the Canadian Massage Therapist Alliance (CMTA) and the Federation of
Massage Therapy Regulatory Authorities of Canada (FOMTRAC). The initial
position from CCMTS is for a public education sector nominee as the
private career colleges are already participating through the Founders.

nomination process and timelines, as well as the nomination criteria
and board duties and responsibilities can be found on the CMTCA website.

All nominees must meet the
criteria in the CMTCA Nominating Criteria for Board Members document.
Nominee must read all the relevant documents (posted on the CMTCA
website) and agree to abide by the CMTCA policies if they are appointed
to the CMTCA Board. Questions regarding these processes and policies can
be directed to the Founders at info@cmtca.ca.

Anyone wishing to
be considered for nomination should contact the appropriate stakeholder
agency, not the CMTCA. Nominations should include the resume of the
nominee, a description of their qualifications with reference to the
applicable nominating criteria as outlined, as well as two professional
references.

The posted documents pertaining to board nomination
reflect the guidance in the Accreditation Planning Committee Final
Report October 2013, feedback from the Accreditation Advisory Committee
in June 2014 and guidance from legal and governance consultants.

Interested
parties are asked to check with the appropriate agency (CMTA, CCMTS,
FOMTRAC) regarding the deadline date to receive nominations.
