B.C. approves increase in 2014 RMT registration renewal fees

Dec. 3, 2013 — At its October 25, 2013 meeting, the Board of the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia approved an increase in the annual fees for active and inactive registrants to renew their registration with the College.

Effective November 1, 2013, the registration renewal fee for active
registrants is $400, and the fee for inactive registrants is $100.

The registration renewal fee for active registrants was previously $360. The fee for inactive registrants was $75.

The
Board’s decision followed approval of the increase in fees by CMTBC’s
finance and audit committee at its Oct. 15, 2013 meeting.

The
College aimed to set registration renewal fees at a level that is fair
to registrants and also enables the College to meet its statutory
obligations, the CMTBC said.

The Ministry of Health approved the new fees and they are incorporated in the CMTBC Bylaws.

Registration
renewal for 2014 is now open. The deadline for renewing 2014
registration is December 31, 2013. See the Registration Renewal page for
more information.

With the recent launch of the redesigned CMTBC website and CMTBC Online Portal, registrants are now able to renew their registration online, by setting up a user account in the portal.

The CMTBC is strongly encouraging registrants to renew their registration online. For registrants who do not have email addresses or Internet access, CMTBC will mail renewal packages.
