Encouraging a “National Community” within the Massage Therapy Profession is the primary goal of the magazine. Over the past 15 years, I have seen phenomenal growth within our profession. In order to further impact other medical professions and the public, we must
work together!

What will it take for Massage Therapy, as a profession, to be seen as credible within the medical community? It is not just the placement within the Regulated Health Professions Act or the completion of a 2200hour course.

The priority is to establish Massage Therapy as a national profession. In order to create this it is integral that we work together to support each province in regulating the practice of Massage Therapy. A national voice, post secondary education (BSc), legislation that regulates the profession, colleges and governing bodies that protect the public, as well as research that supports and makes credible the work that we do on a daily basis are just some of the elements that will aid in this endeavour.

In this, our second issue, we present thought-provoking articles that look at some of these elements. We hope that this will both educate and intrigue you.
