Hand and Stone director of massage therapy inducted into Massage Therapy Hall of Fame

Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa has announced that its Director of Massage Therapy Education and Training, Nathan Nordstrom, was inducted into the 2018 Massage Therapy Hall of Fame at the World Massage Festival in Las Vegas on August 7.

Nordstrom received the nomination for this respected, industry award by MK Brennan, a fellow national past president of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).

Nordstrom joined Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa in February and currently oversees the management of massage services including therapist training, and the introduction of new massage services and protocols. He also serves as liaison for Hand & Stone to professional massage and spa associations for the nationwide franchise of over 350 locations.

Nordstrom is a Board Certified Massage Therapist and Bodyworker (BCMTB) by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Body workers (NCBTMB). He has served in various roles, both locally and nationally over many years. Among other positions within the AMTA, he most-notably served as 2016-17 National President. He has participated in Committees for the AMTA, Alliance for Massage Therapy Education (AFMTE), and the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB). Nathan currently serves as a member of the NCBTMB board and has served as a Trustee for the Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF).

He is also well-known for teaching classes in the application of ethics in the daily lives of massage therapists. In 2018, he started a weekly Facebook Live and YouTube class called, “Ethics, Outside the Box.” This weekly online ethics presentation specifically focuses on the professional Codes of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
