She will be presented with her award at the upcoming 40th AGM being held this coming Friday, April 12th at the Victoria Inn, Winnipeg.
Kos-Whicher noted that the nomination of Bergman "... continues with the MTAM's long standing tradition of recognizing outstanding leaders within the membership . The MTAM considers is privileged to have such dedicated members as Sheila preparing our future RMT's for the profession."
Bergman has made significant contributions in the areas of teaching and education of the profession throughout her career that began in 1995. She has also specialized her personal practice in the important area of geriatric care that has opened a similar career focus for other RMT's. She currently teaches at Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy and lectures in her specialty areas with other health professions. Bergman served as an MTAM Director in 2007-09.
