Morneau Shepell launches InfluenceCare
Morneau Shepell Inc., a human resources consulting and technology company, has announced the launch of InfluenceCare – a program built to deliver the right recovery support at the earliest time using evidence-based diagnoses of mental health conditions, assessments of musculoskeletal conditions, treatment recommendations and immediate access to resources to accelerate an employee's return-to-work.

“InfluenceCare directly addresses the two most common drivers of absenteeism in the workplace – mental health and musculoskeletal diagnoses,” said Paula Little, vice-president, operations, absence management solutions at Morneau Shepell. “Factors such as misdiagnosis, mistreatment and delays in accessing specialists make these diagnoses particularly challenging for the employee, and often delay an early and healthy return to work.
“Employees need a holistic approach combining early risk identification, access to specialists, including psychiatrists, to ensure proper diagnosis and effective medication, and a treatment plan that includes counseling. All focus on ensuring the employee gets a holistic care plan to have long-term improvement.”
InfluenceCare aims to optimize the organizational disability management strategy by identifying risk and improving access to treatment. InfluenceCare works by providing both screening and assessing tools and recovery support resources, while using monitoring tools to determine the ideal return to work plan, the company explained.
“The focus of the program is early issue identification and intervention, combined with early access to treatment, Little added. “Employers will now have the advantage of ensuring their employees receive immediate access to resources, which in turn, will help avoid long-term absenteeism and increase work productivity. Immediate access to resources means starting your return-to-work plan as soon as possible.”
