May 5, 2010  By Massage Therapy Canada

Naturopathic
Medicine Week (NMW) allows the public to learn more about how naturopathic doctors
can help.  It features a series of events
that will be taking place in naturopathic clinics across Ontario from May 3 to May 9.

During
Naturopathic Medicine Week, registered naturopathic doctors will be hosting
events for the public, educating them on how naturopathic medicine integrates a
range of natural therapies to prevent and treat disease and improve overall
wellness.  NDs will be offering seminars,
open houses and much more.  Some of the
events include various topics such as: strategies for detoxifying the body and
alleviating headaches the natural way, top 10 ways to optimize your health
using naturopathic medicine, what is the connection between stress and weight
gain, the fundamentals of nutrition, breast thermography screening, optimizing
fertility, spring detox and much more.

NDs are
primary care providers and have been regulated, in Ontario, since 1925.  The OAND helps promote naturopathic medicine
and those who practice it, representing them as valued partners in the
health-care system, and promoting public awareness about how naturopathic
doctors can make a difference.  By doing
so, they set the standard for clinical excellence in patient-centred care.
