Jan. 23, London, Ont. – TMJ Mastery announces a new three-day integrative workshop titled Principles, Applications and Disc Displacements.

The workshop focuses on intra-oral techniques that explore masticatory dysfunction and offers 12 Ontario CEUs.

The workshop will be given by John W. Corry, RMT, on two separate dates: April 16-18, 2011 at the Toronto Campus of the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (CCMH) and April 29-May1, 2011 at the Cambridge Campus of CCMH.

TMJ dysfunction is often overlooked in many scenarios of headache, MVA cases, SI dysfunction, scoliosis, and others. The dental profession is fitting mouth appliances for many of their patients as it seems the prevalence of TMJ issues is finally being acknowledged.  And yet, many massage therapy practitioners indicate they graduated with very little confidence or skill intreating the issues.

Treating TMJ dysfunction offers a niche opportunity in our growing profession, and the course is valuable to those therapists who wish to know how to treat it when it presents along with related conditions, or for those who may wish to declare TMJ work a focus of their career/clinic. The course includes a comprehensive visual study of the progression of articular disc displacement, and the techniques that may restore symmetrical joint function or alter further degeneration, including joint mobilization applications.

What previous participants have said:

“This workshop took the two-dimensional info in [anatomy texts] and turned it into a three-dimensional model I could really understand and start using immediately”.

“Excellent presentation.  Not everyone has the skill to convey what they know in a class room setting. Thank You!”
