Dec. 16, 2009 – Attorney General Alicia Limtiaco yesterday handed over a draft of proposed legislation that would solidify licensure and certification requirements for the practice of massage or massage therapy.

BACKGROUND While mathematical models have been developed for bony movement during chiropractic manipulation, such models are not available for motion of soft tissues during other forms of manipulation and osteopathy.

As I mentioned in my last article, we often ignore joints and their intrinsic structures as well as joint mobilization techniques that would be of benefit. Traditional therapies, such as psychotherapy, although somewhat effective (Douglas & Strom 1988, Gage 1991, McArthur 1990, Mitchell 1991) do not treat the body, which is the object of the abuse.
