Pillo1: Eco-friendly support, health-friendly sleep

Feb. 10, 2010 – Pillo1 is the first eco-luxe pillow that blends the blissful
comfort of luxury bedding and a highly sophisticated therapeutic design that
perfectly aligns the spine to promote healing and restorative deep sleep.

Pillo1 is made of six different
pieces of eco-friendly foam including soy-based bio-foam (which provides
additional firmness for the neck on one side of the feather-like center head
cradle) and Talalay latex, a naturally derived and renewable resource from the
milk of the rubber tree that is produced using a solvent-free process. Talalay
is naturally hypoallergenic, dust-mite resistant with anti-microbial
properties.  The side panels of Pillo1 contain Talalay latex, while the
center is a Talalay latex blend with memory properties, and the bio-foam core
on one side of the neck roll is a soy based foam.  Each piece of the
pillow provides different degrees of support and softness and educates the body
to stay in alignment while sleeping. 

Traditional pillows push the
head up above the body and stretch the neck all night – this is an unnatural
position.  Humans are designed to sleep so the body can restore its
settings for the next period of daytime activity.  When the body is not at
rest, or is in an unnatural position, the muscles and connective tissue around
the spine react by pulling, compensating and, sometimes, tearing. When this
happens night after night, over time, pain can result.  

When the neck is supported
underneath, as it is with Pillo1, blood flow, nerve connectivity and rejuvenation
of the muscles and connective tissue can occur naturally during sleep. 
With Pillo1’s design and engineering in six different pieces of soft soy foam
and eco friendly Talalay latex, the product gently promotes the healthy,
lordotic curve of the neck and encourages the body to sleep more on the back,
and also on either side, in neutral spinal alignment.
