Two new Massage Addict clinics to open in Ottawa

OTTAWA – Ottawa business owners Lucille Perrault and Larry Poirier seem to be riding the wave of one of the fastest growing membership-based registered massage therapy companies in Canada. They have already opened one Massage Addict clinic in Westboro, with another opening on Bank St. in Ottawa this year, and three more clinics set to open by the end of 2017.

Before reaching out to Massage Addict, Perrault and Poirier, who met at Queen’s University’s MBA program, conducted thorough research. They both have extensive backgrounds in customer service and management.

“We saw that Massage Addict was rapidly growing across Canada and offers a unique membership model for massage therapy that we believe differentiates the franchise in the health and wellness space,” explained Poirier, an independent investor and consultant who has been a CEO, president, and member of the board at numerous companies, including his own IT services firm.

“We know that the only way to grow profitably is with a solid structure and good management.”

Perrault and Poirier have already opened their Westboro Massage Addict Clinic, with a second clinic set to open this year at 1111 Bank St. in Ottawa. But it doesn’t end there. They are committed to developing the entire Ottawa market, including another three clinics by the end of 2017.

They are both keenly aware of the considerable benefits franchise organizations offer business partners. “The business model, the marketing, and the operating procedures are already proven,” said Lucille, a former commercial banker and high-tech CFO who has also worked in health care at the executive level. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Management and plans to use her knowledge and experience to help promote both a positive clinic culture and an outstanding client experience.

“With the hard work already done, it is not only easier to operate one clinic, but it is also easier to scale up more rapidly,” Perrault said.

The numerous health benefits of regular massage – improved sleep, stress release, pain relief and many others – are not lost on these business owners. “Before reaching out to Massage Addict, I booked myself a massage at one of their existing clinics,” said Larry. “I was sold.”

“We are delighted with the quality of franchise partners the Massage Addict brand and business model attracts,” said Fraser Clarke, president and CEO of Massage Addict. “We’re excited about the multi-clinic partnership with Lucille and Larry and look forward to supporting their future development in the region.”
