New Massage Therapy Program in BC

Okanagan
Valley College of Massage Therapy (OVCMT) opened its doors in 1994 and is
accredited by both the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia  (CMTBC – http://www.cmtbc.bc.ca/) and the Private
Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA – http://www.pctia.bc.ca/)
in BC. OVCMT is committed to creating and maintaining the highest possible standards
of education in professional massage therapy and education in wellness massage
and spa modalities. Students can develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes
essential to becoming Registered Massage Therapists or spa practitioners. The
curriculum integrates academic content and practical skills emphasizing the
application of critical thinking with the art and ethics of professionalism.




The new
two-year massage therapy program at OVCMT can be applied to a Bachelor of
Health Science Degree and is also accredited by both PCTIA and the CMTBC, as
well as being a Designated School for Student Aid BC. The program provides
instruction in all of the competencies required by the other regulated
provinces in Canada (Newfoundland & Labrador and Ontario). Graduates of the
OVCMT massage therapy diploma program are eligible to receive credits towards
the Bachelor of Health Science degree through Thompson Rivers University, Open
Learning (TRU-OL).

Applications
are now being accepted for matriculation in September 2012 and January 2013.
